The cable is designed to connect devices with an RS-232 connector via a USB Type-C connector.
PL2303GT chip has a low cost and high performance in USB to RS232 conversion. The PL2303GT provides a convenient solution for connecting a full-duplex asynchronous RS-232 serial device to any Universal Serial Bus (USB)--enabled host. Compatible PL2303GT drivers can emulate a traditional COM port on most operating systems, allowing existing COM port-based applications to easily migrate and be USB-ready.
The PL2303GT integrates a high data rate RS-232 transceiver that complies with EIA/TIA-232F and CCITT V.28 communication interface specifications. 28. The RS-232 transceiver is a 3-transmitter and 5-receiver unit with a built-in high-efficiency charge pump circuit. It provides a bipolar output for transmitters and causes the transmitters to output RS-232 voltage output levels. During normal operation, the PL2303GT operates at very low power consumption and guarantees data rates up to 1Mbps.
